    Default www.mo-media.com/acsm

    Hey chandlerwinston,
In response to the original question I ordered from (www.mo-media.com/acsm ) and received the material. I can not comment on the helpfulness of the material because I have not taken any exams. I use the flashcards will waiting for things like the computer to reboot or other short down times. Again, all I can vouch for is I received the material.

    Hey Raven,

If you wouldn't mind please keep us updated on how you like these materials. I have seen them and have been curious myself. I am sure others are too.

Default Appendix" a" in prescription book

Do we need to know the appendix A in the prescriptions book? It talks in detail about the medications that need to be taken for various illnesses. If so, in how much detail should we be knowing the content.
    Thanks!

    Hi Sybil,

I did a quick search in the KSAs for the CPT, and here is what I found:

    1.12.10
Knowledge of common drugs from each of the following classes of medications and ability to describe their effects on exercise: antianginals, anticoagulants, antihypertensives, antiarrhythmics, bronchodilators, hypoglycemics, psychotropics, vasodilators, and over-the-counter medications such as pseudoephedrine.

    1.12.11
Knowledge of the effects of the following substances on exercise: antihistamines, tranquilizers, alcohol, diet pills, cold tablets, caffeine, and nicotine.

So everything that's in the appendix is fair game. I wouldn't stress over it (and/or try to commit everything in there to memory), but definitely be familiar with the content.
