Help with ACSM PT Certification - Personal Trainer Community - Forum

I was wondering if anyone could answer a few questions I have regarding the ACSM Personal Trainer Certification. I thank you in advance for your responses.

I just finished the "ACSM's Resources for the Personal Trainer" and I am wondering if the information in this text coupled with a three-day workshop provides sufficient knowledge to pass the certification test.

If referencing "Guidlines for Exercise Testing and Prescription" is necessary, what portions of the text relate to the PT Cert.?

Finally, does anyone know where i could obtain a free practice test online? (I would really rather not pay $49 if I don't have to.)

Hi and welcome!

I too am studying for the ACSM-CPT. I know 2 people who have taken the exam and passed. One of them completed the workshop. I am going to email them and see if they will answer your questions in the forum. I am curious as well!

I ended up buying the practice exam. There is a free diagnostics tool on the ACSM portal. I will find it and post it for you.

Go here: http://www.acsmlearning.org and create a user name and password (I think you have to do this in order to access the diagnostic tool), and then click practice test.

I received an email from someone I know who passed the exam. She said she took the workshop and purchased the practice exam and found both very useful. Good Luck!
