Is a college degree necessary to sit for the ACE Personal Trainer Certification exam?
No. In order to sit for the ACE-CPT you must have a high school diploma or equivalent, be 18 years of age, and hold a current CPR certification. You may sit for the exam without proof of CPR but you will need to provide proof in order to receive your exam scores. Candidates who wish to take the computer-based exam must provide proof prior to registrarion.

The ACE personal trainer certification exam is offered at over 300 exam sites. Both paper and pencil and computer-based exams are available.

How many questions are on the ACE-CPT exam?

There are 150 questions on the exam and the candadite is given 3 hours to complete the exam. There are also 2 written simulation questions.

What is the pass rate for the ACE-CPT exam?
Exams are reported on a scaled score of 200-800. A passing score is 500.

How much does the exam cost?
The paper and pencil format costs $219 (retake costs $135) and the computer-based version costs $249 (retake costs $184)
